Most Chandler dogs aren’t badly behaved. They’re bored and alone.
A lot of this town works twelve-hour shifts. Intel out at Ocotillo, Microchip, Northrop, the campuses along Price Road. Four on, three off. On call. Compressed schedules that don’t look anything like nine to five.
Which means the dog is alone for ten or eleven hours, then his person walks in exhausted with about twenty minutes of energy left. Nobody in that house is a bad owner. There just isn’t time, and the dog is paying for it with chewing, barking, digging, and losing his mind the second anyone comes through the door. I come to your house and do the work. You don’t have to be there for every session, and I schedule around your shift instead of asking you to rearrange your life around mine. Then I hand it back to you in a form you can actually maintain in twenty minutes a day.
What I see in Chandler homes
The relocation dog. Chandler pulls people in from all over the country for work, and the dog comes with them. A husky or a shepherd who used to get two hours a day outside in Portland now gets fifteen minutes before it hits 105. That dog isn’t being difficult. He’s got nowhere to put anything.
Sun Lakes, Sunbird, Springfield, Solera. I do a lot of work in the 55-and-over communities down here, and it’s almost always the same conversation. The dog is loved, the dog is spoiled, and the dog outweighs the situation. Nobody should be getting pulled off their feet by their own dog. My approach is built on dog psychology and body language rather than strength—exactly why it holds up for an owner with a bad shoulder and a ninety-pound lab.
Lake and greenbelt lots. Ocotillo and Fulton Ranch put water and open shoreline right outside the back gate, and geese and ducks with it. A dog with prey drive and no recall around water is a problem that gets expensive fast. The daycare loop is no better: exercise is not the same thing as training. A tired dog is just a dog who will be rested tomorrow.

Once your dog is solid at home, home stops being the test. We work the Paseo Trail along the Consolidated Canal, the lake loop at Veterans Oasis Park, the paved loop at Desert Breeze, the hilltop at Paseo Vista, and the patios around Dr. A.J. Chandler Park downtown on a Saturday.
