Glendale is a big city with two sides. The north side is newer, with lakes and greenbelts around Arrowhead. The south side is older, with the historic downtown, ranch homes, and chain-link fences. A lot of those fences have a dog behind them, and every one of them barks when you walk by. There are cats under half the cars on the block. And in the fall, a stadium full of people shows up at Westgate on Sundays.
A dog who runs out the door after a cat is a dog who is going to get hit. A dog who cannot walk past a barking fence is a dog who stops getting walked. I come to your house and we train right there. At your front door, in your yard, and on your block, past the same fences that set him off. And I train you too, because you are the one holding the leash after I leave.
What I see on Glendale homes
A family called me about a rescued Malinois and Mastiff mix. She barked at anyone who came in the house. She ran out the door after cats. And walks were impossible, because every time a dog barked behind a fence, she lost it. I got her all fixed up, and she is doing great. People can come in the house now. She stays put when the door opens. And she walks right past the fences.
Another family had a six-month-old Bloodhound. When he did not get his way, he turned mean. He stole dish towels off the counter. He pulled on the leash. And he body slammed the family. Six months old and already too big to ignore. After we worked together, the dish towels stayed on the counter, he walked nicely on a leash, and the body slamming stopped.

Once your dog is doing well at home, we take the training out into the real world. We walk your own block past the barking fences. We walk through Sahuaro Ranch Park, where the peacocks wander around loose. We sit on a patio in the historic downtown. We walk past the fence at the Foothills dog park. And we hike the trails at Thunderbird Park, where dogs are allowed on a leash.

Every program is custom, and they run from about five weeks for house and door manners up to nine weeks for a dog you can take anywhere. Puppy training, obedience, behavior work, and PTSD service dog training all included.
