Paradise Valley homes are big. Most sit on an acre or more, behind a wall and a gate. A lot of people come and go every week. A landscape crew. A pool service. A housekeeper. A nanny. And most homes here have more than one dog.
If your dog only listens to you, the training is only half done. Someone else opens the door. Someone else feeds the dogs. Someone else is home at two in the afternoon. So I don't just train the dog, and I don't just train you. I train everyone who handles the dog. That way the rules stay the same no matter who is home.
What I see in Paradise Valley homes
A family had two golden retrievers and two French bulldogs. The male golden and the male Frenchie kept fighting. The family wanted to keep all four dogs. They also had house staff who took care of the dogs during the day. So I did two things. I stopped the fighting. Then I taught the staff how to keep the training going after I left. The training only works if everyone in the house does it the same way.
Another family had a French bulldog puppy and an older French bulldog. The puppy picked on the older dog. He guarded his food bowl. He was not potty trained. And he was rough with the kids. That is four problems in one puppy. Most people wait on the bullying because it looks like play. It is not play to the older dog. And a puppy who guards his food bowl does not grow out of it. It gets worse.
Both of those homes had French bulldogs, and I see a lot of them in Paradise Valley. Frenchies are small, so they mostly stay inside the walls. They cannot handle the summer heat, so they do not get walked much for five months a year. A dog with a lot of energy and nowhere to put it starts causing problems at home.

Once your dog is doing well at home, we take the training out into the real world. Paradise Valley does not have many public places, so we use what is close. Your front gate when the landscape crew shows up. The side of Lincoln Drive when the cyclists are out. The Cholla trailhead on a Saturday morning. Dogs are not allowed on Camelback, but the sidewalk out front is busy, and busy is what we need. Then we go to the patios in Old Town and walk past the fence at the Chaparral dog park, ten minutes away.
