SCOTTSDALE DOG TRAINING

In-Home Dog Training in Scottsdale, AZ

I live here. I train here. And I come to your house.

26+ years in the Valley | Most dogs done in 4–5 sessions | Lifetime support, seven days a week

Scottsdale is built for dogs, if your dog can handle it

Thirty thousand acres of Preserve out your back door. Old Town patios that hand out water bowls. Greenbelt paths, Kierland, the Quarter, farmers markets, half the town walking a dog at 6am.

None of it is any use to you if your dog drags you down the block and screams at every other dog he sees. That’s what I fix, and I fix it at your house, because the problem isn’t happening at a training facility across town. It’s happening at your front door, in your yard, and on your street. I’m based right here in Scottsdale, so I’m not driving in from somewhere else to guess at it.

The stuff I see in Scottsdale homes every week

A family called me about their Standard Poodle. She was going to the bathroom in the house, and she would not follow the house rules. By the end, she was going outside to do her business and had learned her manners.

A dentist called me about his Golden Retriever puppy. He wanted a therapy dog for his practice. A dog who could sit with nervous patients and calm them down. That is a lot to ask of a puppy. We started at home with the basics, then took the training to the office. Now that dog comforts patients while they are in the dentist chair.

Those are the two ends of what I do. Most Scottsdale dogs are somewhere in between. They need to sit on a patio in Old Town without barking, walk the greenbelt without pulling, and stay calm at Kierland when a kid runs past. It is the same training. You decide how far it goes.

A lot of Scottsdale is only here for the winter. If you are here from November to April with a dog who has never lived around this many people, patios, and other dogs, that is a good time to call me.

Where I work in Scottsdale

Old Town, South Scottsdale, McCormick Ranch, Gainey Ranch, Scottsdale Ranch, the Shea corridor, McDowell Mountain Ranch, Grayhawk, DC Ranch, Silverleaf, Windgate Ranch, Troon North, Troon Village, Desert Mountain, the Pinnacle Peak area, and the Airpark. If you’re not on that list, call me anyway.

Once your dog is solid at home, home stops being the test. We take it to the Indian Bend Wash greenbelt, the dog park at Chaparral, a Preserve trailhead on a busy Saturday morning, Old Town when the patios are full. A down-stay only counts when there’s a golden retriever losing it at the next table.
